Welcome Back, Jhon Solís: Relocated for 2026/27

There is something especially satisfying about welcoming back a familiar face. Jhon Solís joined Birmingham City on loan in the second half of last season, made an immediate impression on the pitch, and has now committed his long-term future to the club with a permanent four-year deal. And when he needed to settle into life in Birmingham for the 2026/27 season, he trusted Partridge Homes to handle his relocation. Again.

That trust means a great deal to us. It is also our second player relocation for Birmingham City this summer, a milestone we are proud to reach so early in the window.

A Player Worth Fighting For

Jhon Elmer Solís Romero is 21 years old, stands at 1.88m, and plays as a central midfielder. He came through at Atlético Nacional in Colombia, winning the Apertura in 2022 and the Superliga in 2023, before earning a move to Girona in September 2023. At Girona, he made 61 appearances across all competitions, including UEFA Champions League matches against Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Arsenal. He arrived at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park in January 2025 not as an unknown quantity, but as a player with genuine top-level European experience.

Birmingham City were not the only club who could see that. According to Girona expert Ivan Quirós and Colombian reporter Pipe Sierra, Premier League sides including Leeds United and Brentford were tracking Solís ahead of the summer window. The interest was real, and the competition was serious.

Blues moved decisively, triggering their €7 million purchase option from the original loan agreement and making him Chris Davies’ first permanent signing of the summer. The deal was done. The player stays.

What He Brought to Blues Last Season

Solís made 18 appearances during his loan spell, scoring his first goal in the 2-1 victory over Bristol City in April. His contribution went beyond that single moment, though. His numbers across the campaign tell a more complete story:

  • 84.6% passing accuracy, reflecting the calmness in possession he brought to midfield
  • 9 tackles and 22 recoveries, providing genuine defensive solidity
  • 5 successful dribbles at a 71.4% success rate
  • 22 duels won at a 61.1% rate
  • 1,029 minutes played across 18 appearances
  • An average FotMob rating of 6.75

Commentator Ian Danter noted that Solís brought “real steel” to midfield, and that assessment holds up against the data. He formed a strong partnership with Paik Seung-ho and was a consistent, reliable presence as Birmingham secured their highest league finish in a decade, ending the campaign 10th in the Championship.

At 21, with Champions League experience already behind him and an entire career still ahead, the ceiling is high.

A Familiar Face, a Trusted Partner

What makes this relocation particularly meaningful for us is the returning relationship. Jhon was with us last season during his loan spell, and when the permanent move was confirmed, he came back to Partridge Homes for his housing needs ahead of 2026/27. That is not something we take lightly. A player choosing to return to the same agent says more than any endorsement ever could.

This is also our second Birmingham City player relocation this summer, following our work with James Beadle. Combined with our 19 from 19 record of successful player relocations for Birmingham City FC across the 2025/26 season, we are carrying that momentum directly into the new campaign.

We know what professional footballers need from a letting agent: speed, discretion, flexibility, and genuine local knowledge of Birmingham and Solihull. We have built our sports and entertainment service around exactly that, and Jhon’s return is the clearest possible sign that it works.

Welcome Back, Jhon
