We have some genuinely exciting news to share. Partridge Homes has been named a finalist for Best Customer Service at the UK Small Business Awards 2026, and this one means a great deal to us.
The UK Small Business Awards are fiercely competitive. Tens of thousands of businesses entered this year, and for 2026 the organisers introduced additional questions and tougher entry criteria to raise the bar further. To make it through to the final stage, particularly in a category built entirely around how well you look after people, is something our whole team should feel proud of.
Why This Award Matters to Us
Not every accolade carries the same weight. An award for Best Customer Service isn’t about having the smartest marketing, the biggest turnover, or the most properties on the books. It’s about whether the people you work with, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, developers, contractors, feel properly looked after.
That’s the one we wanted to be recognised for.
Partridge Homes has never been built around the idea of putting properties online, arranging viewings, and collecting fees. Since the business was established nearly 20 years ago, the principle has always been straightforward: look after people properly. Whether that’s a landlord trusting us with their investment, a family selling the home they’ve lived in for 30 years, a first-time buyer collecting their keys, or a professional relocating to Birmingham or Solihull, we want every person who works with us to feel that somebody at Partridge Homes genuinely cares about the outcome.
Property is a people business. Technology has changed. Marketing has changed. Legislation has changed. But good customer service hasn’t. It still comes down to answering the phone, communicating clearly, doing what you say you’re going to do, and being there when somebody needs you.
This Belongs to the Whole Team
The finalist position has Partridge Homes’ name on it, but it belongs to every member of our team.
As the business has grown, so has the responsibility that comes with looking after hundreds of properties, landlords, tenants, buyers, and sellers across Birmingham, Solihull, and the surrounding areas. That takes an enormous amount of work that most clients will never see.
The phone call made after hours. The maintenance problem someone refuses to leave until tomorrow. The landlord who needs reassuring at short notice. The tenant who needs somebody to listen. The sale that looks like it might fall apart and needs everyone pulling together to get it across the line.
Those are the moments that define what customer service actually means. Our sales team, lettings team, property managers, maintenance coordinators, administrators, and everyone in between, all of them contribute to the experience our clients receive. This recognition reflects what they do, every day.
Why Remaining Independent Matters
We’re also proud to still be an independent, family-run business. As more estate and letting agencies become part of large corporate groups, we believe there’s real value in being able to make decisions locally and personally.
Our directors work within the business. Our team knows our landlords and vendors by name. We know the streets, the postcodes, the local market conditions across every area we cover. And when something needs resolving, there’s no distant head office in the loop. That personal accountability has shaped Partridge Homes for almost two decades, and it’s something we’re determined to protect as we grow.
A Strong Track Record of Recognition
This isn’t our first time being recognised. We’ve previously won the British Property Awards for Best Letting Agents in Solihull four years running, and during the 2025 to 2026 season we successfully relocated 19 out of 19 Birmingham City Football Club signings. Being shortlisted for Best Customer Service at a national level adds something different: it’s a direct reflection of the experience our clients receive, not just the results we achieve.
What Happens Next
As a finalist, Partridge Homes now progresses to the final round of the UK Small Business Awards, where businesses compete for a place in the National Top 10. The Grand Final takes place at an invitation-only VIP event in Birmingham, where the top businesses across the country will be announced.
Whatever the outcome, being named a finalist among businesses from across the UK is already something we’re proud of. Though, naturally, we’d quite like to win it now.
